Lord God, you are gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and quick to show mercy and faithful love. Your compassion is for all you have made.
We admit that this compassion is slow to come to life in us.
We feel frustration and hurt when our plans are interrupted or our hopes thwarted.
Too often we blame others and ourselves, respond in anger rather than peace
Too often we are quick to praise ourselves, and slow to give you thanks
Lord, have mercy. Fill us with your presence and peace. Remove any anxieties within us and shape us to be faithful people reflecting your compassion to all creation.
We ask this in Jesus’ name and for his sake. Amen.
