We can be like Jonah, believing we know better the ways you should bless others. We run from Nineveh, preferring to keep enemies as enemies. We believe we have better plans for our life and for the world. We see your generous mercy, and resent such graciousness. Open our eyes to the love you lavish upon your creation. Help us to better see the care that we should exhibit to all, both friends and enemies. When we hear your voice, give us courage to follow and obey, especially when we find our hearts pulling us in the opposite direction.
