voting on Democracy

When a citizen gives his suffrage (vote) to a man of known immorality he abuses his trust; he sacrifices not only his own interest, but that of his neighbor, he betrays the interest of his country.

It is the people’s business, — the election is in their hands. If they turn their backs to the fire, and get scorched in the rear, they’ll find they have got to sit on the blister!

We do not have government by the majority. We have government by the majority who participate.

Always vote for a principle, though you vote alone, and you may cherish the sweet reflection that your vote is never lost.
