Guard Dogs and False Suspicions
One day, a house-dog, standing at the window, was barking his head off at a passing mailman. The dog's owner, irritated, asks the dog, "Why do you always bark at that poor mailman?" The dog says, "So that he won't break into our house and steal all of our food and toys." The owner frowns, confused. "Why on earth do you think he would do such a thing? He's never tried that before!" Rolling his eyes, the dog replies, "Well, of course he hasn’t! You're welcome!"
Often, we can be like that dog. We worry and scream and do everything possible to fight off all the terrible things that will get us. But sometimes, a mailman is just a mailman.
