Daniel Hill

Daniel Hill is a pastor, author, and speaker passionate about racial reconciliation, justice, and the transformative power of the gospel. He is the founding and senior pastor of River City Community Church, a vibrant, multiethnic congregation located in the heart of Chicago. Hill’s ministry focuses on addressing the challenges and opportunities of bridging racial divides in a way that reflects the unity and diversity of God’s kingdom.

Hill holds a degree in business from Purdue University and a Master of Arts in Theology from Moody Bible Institute. Before entering full-time ministry, he worked at Willow Creek Community Church as a staff member, helping launch their multiethnic ministry efforts. His experiences during that time, coupled with his own spiritual journey, deepened his commitment to addressing systemic injustice and encouraging Christians to engage in conversations about race with courage, humility, and grace.

He is the author of several books, including White Awake: An Honest Look at What It Means to Be White and White Lies: Nine Ways to Expose and Resist the Racial Systems That Divide Us. These works draw from his personal experiences and extensive study to challenge individuals and communities to confront biases and work toward reconciliation and justice. Hill’s writing combines theological depth, practical wisdom, and heartfelt conviction, making him a leading voice on issues of race, faith, and justice.

In addition to his pastoral and writing work, Hill is a sought-after speaker, addressing churches, organizations, and conferences on the intersection of faith, race, and culture. He is committed to equipping the church to embody the gospel's reconciling power in every sphere of life.

Hill lives in Chicago with his wife, Elizabeth, and their two children. He enjoys spending time with his family, exploring the city, and advocating for the flourishing of diverse communities.
