Summertime Prayer

You make everything beautiful in its season, Creator. You are faithful, and summer, with warm air and green fields, has returned to bless our land. We thank you for the change of seasons, the melting of snow and ice, and that you make the earth flower and fruit, covering nature with varied beauty.

You make morning and evening rejoice. The pastures are full of flocks. The valleys are filled with corn. Everything shouts with joy and sings. The earth abounds with your goodness. How excellent is your name above all the earth!

Let our spirits share in your joy. May no cloud darken our souls. Refresh and water our souls. Do not let spiritual drought dry us out. Sustain us with your word and grace, so that we may be like trees planted by streams of pure water, heavy with fruit. Like the farmers who work hard all summer to ensure a good harvest, help us to diligently do your kingdom work, so that we can enjoy the harvest of your pleasure.
