
Woodrow Kroll
Woodrow Kroll is a well-known Bible teacher, author, and former president and senior Bible teacher of Back to the Bible, an international Christian ministry dedicated to teaching God’s Word through radio, print, and digital media. Born on October 21, 1944, in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, Kroll grew up in a Christian home, developing a deep love for Scripture from an early age.
Kroll pursued his theological education at Wheaton College, where he earned his bachelor’s degree, and furthered his studies at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, where he obtained a Master of Divinity. He later completed a Doctor of Ministry degree from Luther Rice Seminary, equipping him for a lifetime of teaching and ministry.
Kroll served as a pastor for several years before transitioning to academia, teaching homiletics and pastoral theology at Practical Bible Training School (now Davis College) in Binghamton, New York, where he also served as president. In 1990, he joined Back to the Bible, where he became a beloved voice on the daily radio broadcast, reaching millions of listeners worldwide with clear, practical, and engaging Bible teaching. Under his leadership, the ministry expanded significantly, embracing digital platforms and global outreach.
An accomplished author, Kroll has written over 50 books, including Taking Back the Good Book and The Twelve Voices of Christmas. His works emphasize the relevance of Scripture in everyday life, urging readers to deepen their relationship with God through His Word.
Kroll retired from Back to the Bible in 2013 but continues to teach and write, remaining a passionate advocate for biblical literacy. Known for his warmth, clarity, and commitment to the gospel, Kroll’s ministry has had a profound and lasting impact, encouraging countless individuals to know and live out God’s Word. He resides in Nebraska with his wife, Linda, enjoying time with their family and continuing to serve in ministry.
