
Jack Levison
Jack Levison is a distinguished biblical scholar, author, and teacher, recognized for his expertise in pneumatology—the study of the Holy Spirit. He holds the W. J. A. Power Chair of Old Testament Interpretation and Biblical Hebrew at Perkins School of Theology, Southern Methodist University (SMU). His scholarship is marked by a deep engagement with both the Hebrew Bible and the New Testament, offering fresh insights into the role of the Spirit in Scripture and Christian life.
Dr. Levison earned his B.A. from Wheaton College, followed by an M.A. from Christ’s College, Cambridge University, and a Ph.D. from Duke University. Throughout his career, he has received numerous prestigious awards and grants, including support from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation and the National Humanities Center.
