Summer Vacation Resources
Discipleship on the Beach
Summer Vacation is hard for churches. Attendance drops and, often, so does giving.
Summer can be a critical time for your people to rest and recharge—to reconnect with their families or restore their hearts and minds in God's creation. On the other hand, if Christians disconnect from God during this time, it can create compartmentalization which might alienate them from God and fail to see the opportunities for discipleship during their times of rest—which, when our God created a Sabbath for rest—is a missed opportunity.
Summer vacation can be a time for intentionally setting aside time to seek and serve God. Summer camps, retreats, and service/mission trips are all ways to do this.
But the majority of people who go on vacation will simply seek rest. How can you give them the context to do so in a way that still keeps Christ at the center of their lives?
TPW has assembled a variety of resources to help inspire and guide you as you preach and worship on topics related to summer vacation.
