Sisters Corrie and Betsie ten Boom were ultimately sent to the Ravensbrück after being arrested by the Gestapo in 1944 for hiding Jewish people and members of the Dutch resistance from the Nazis.
In her memoir, The Hiding Place, Corrie recounted the horrific trials they suffered during their imprisonment. Throughout all their ordeals, Betsie's constant faith was a deep comfort and encouragement to Corrie. Though Corrie read her Bible faithfully in the camps and found strength in God's Word, she still needed someone to reminder that these words were true.
