The tabernacle consists of a courtyard and a tent inside, separated into two sections: ‘The Holy Place’ and ‘the Most Holy Place’ or ‘Holy of Holies’. Inside the Holy Place is a table that holds ‘the bread of the presence’, twelve loaves of bread. It reminds them that God will provide for all their needs. Alongside it is a golden lampstand, which symbolizes God’s constant watch over them to keep them from harm, and an altar of incense, which is intended to give a sense of the nearness of God.
