Brennan Manning shares a true story about a priest from Detroit who traveled to Ireland to visit family. One morning, he walked along the shores of Lake Killarney with his uncle. As they watched the sunrise, neither spoke much for nearly twenty minutes. When they finally resumed walking, the priest noticed his uncle was smiling.
“Uncle Seamus,” he said, “you look very happy.”
“I am,” his uncle replied.
“And why’s that?”
“The Father of Jesus is very fond of me.”
