The Three Values of Pilgrimage

In his enjoyable little book on Christian pilgrimage, British scholar N.T. Wright shares three propositions on the value that pilgrimage can bring to a Christian’s life:

First, pilgrimage to holy places has a valuable role within the Church’s teaching ministry. Unless you are entirely lacking in imagination, I think you will not return from the Holy Land (and to a lesser extent, from other historic places of pilgrimage) without fresh insight into all sorts of aspects of the biblical story, particularly the Gospels.
