Have you heard the acronym “K. I. S. S”? It stands for “Keep It Simple, Stupid.”
Paul doesn’t exactly call the Corinthians stupid (in 1 Cor. 15), though elsewhere Paul sounds tempted to do so, when faced with the frustrating reports he hears about the communities of faith he founded around the Mediterranean.
Paul does urge the Corinthians to “keep it simple” by returning the original events in the message he preached to them that brought them to faith in Christ. While the Corinthians were swayed by pagan ideas, we can sometimes be tempted to overcomplicate things…
