A Story of Angels Defending a Missionary

The question often arises as to whether angels appear today as they did in biblical times. Experience does not indicate that such appearances are usual. There is, however, no biblical teaching that rules out this possibility. It would be wise to maintain an attitude of healthy skepticism toward any story of an angelic appearance unless the report was independently verified. Sometimes people embellish their stories unwittingly in retelling them. One story about angels which seems to be authentic has to do with the well-known missionary to the New Hebrides, John G.
