Peace comes from God

And so when we experience the freedom from self-justification, we experience peace. I know this to be true because I have experienced this peace as just a young adolescent. I remember being at a Christian camp up in the Berkshire Mountains of Massachusetts. And after a week of camp, a week in which I focused more on girls than God, on the last night out by the campfire God finally got a hold of me. And I’ll never forget that evening this overwhelming sense of my own sin, my own brokenness. But at the very same time, I experienced the grace of Jesus Christ, and I knew, and I mean I could feel the peace that comes from being justified by Jesus Christ and not by myself. It was a life-changing moment that would ultimately propel me to join a Presbyterian youth group, which ultimately led me to stand in front of you today.
