The Books of the Psalms and David

The Book of Psalms is divided into five books, like the five books of the Torah. While it is not obvious how each particular Psalm fits into these books, there are general themes and trends that come through in each book. For example, most of the Davidic Psalms are found in Books I and II. Book I, Psalms 1-41, is almost entirely attributed to David. Aside from Psalms 1 and 2, generally considered to be a joint introduction to the entire Psalter, all the rest of the Psalms are attributed to David.
