Reconciled with God for Holiness

Paul writes this letter to the Ephesians to exhort them to live lives that are in line with the great truth of the Gospel. He begins the letter by explaining the Gospel story and then describes the practical impact that that should have on the lives of those who call upon Jesus. They are to live reconciled lives—reconciled to God and to one another. The implications of Jesus’ saving work is that his followers can now live holy lives, empowered by the righteousness of Christ. Paul gives instructions for how this group of Christians should interact in the church, within the family, and in the community.
