We confess to the Lord, despite the fact that we know he will forgive us, for he did his forgiving back when Caesar ruled and executioners had hammers that were crass and killing cruel. We confess not so he will know our sins, for he already knows. But we confess so that being honest will open up our hearts and make us free. And there will be no shadows on our sunlit souls throughout eternity.
