Prayers of Invocation on The Day
Grant, almighty God, that as you shine on us by your Word, we may not be blind at midday, nor willfully seek darkness, and thus lull our minds asleep: but, may we be roused daily by your words, and may we stir up ourselves more and more to fear your name and thus present ourselves and all our pursuits, as a sacrifice to you, that you may peaceably rule and perpetually dwell in us, until you gather us to your celestial habitation, where there is reserved for us eternal rest and glory, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Almighty God, this is the day you have made and we rejoice in it. Surely you are in this place, for in our coming and going before we have seen your glory, we have heard your Word, we have sensed your presence. Grant us again your glory which is eternal, your Word which is redemptive, your Presence which is abiding, through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Eternal Father, we come to you at the close of day (change as applicable), when from long ago men and women have always turned aside to seek your face. Wearied by the conflict of life, worn by the burden of the day, we seek you as our resting place. Amid the shifting sands of time, you stand still, the Rock of Ages.
We would make to you our song for the fair beauty of the day, for the sabbath rest of our spirits, for sacred memories and thoughts of holiness, and for this evening hour (change as applicable) made solemn by your peace. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
