Prayers of Invocation on Promises

Inspired by Acts 2

O God, the Father Almighty, who hast promised to give the Holy Spirit to them that ask thee; look graciously upon us assembled with one accord in one place to make our prayer unto thee, and to wait for thy promise and of thy abundant mercy renew in our longing hearts thy Holy Gift; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Be present, O Lord, to our requests; and as you give us a desire to pray, grant us, O most Loving God, your aid and comfort in our prayers; and may the souls which thirst for your promises be filled from your abundance; through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
