Prayers of Invocation on Hope

O God,

the author and foundation of hope,

enable us to rely with confident expectation on your promises,

knowing that the trials and hindrances of the present time

are not worthy to be compared with the glory that shall be revealed,

and having our faces steadfastly set toward the light

that shines more and more to the perfect day,

through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Eternal Light, who has folded back the curtain of darkness and caused the dawn of a new day to brighten the earth, we ask you to gladden our hearts with your light. Give us the light of faith, that doubts may be dispelled like the mists of the morning; give us the radiance of hope, that we may reach forward to possess virtues we have admired from afar; give us the illumination of love, that we may perfectly love you and worthily magnify your holy name. We offer our prayer in the name of him who is the Light of the world. Amen.

Heavenly Father, You provide shelter, comfort, and hope to us. We lift our praises to You this morning, for Your faithfulness inspires belief in us. Your limitless love reveals more of You to us day by day. As we see You more, our faith increases. Help us to grow in our faith as we meet You in this place.  Amen.
