Prayers of Invocation on Conflict

Eternal Father, we come to you at the close of day (change as applicable), when from long ago men and women have always turned aside to seek your face. Wearied by the conflict of life, worn by the burden of the day, we seek you as our resting place. Amid the shifting sands of time, you stand still, the Rock of Ages. 

We would make to you our song for the fair beauty of the day, for the sabbath rest of our spirits, for sacred memories and thoughts of holiness, and for this evening hour (change as applicable) made solemn by your peace. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
