Prayers of Invocation on Advent

Almighty and Everlasting God, Who ordered all things in heaven and on earth, and Who did make all ages a preparation for the coming of your Son; prepare us by your Holy Spirit for the coming of Him Whom You did send, that we may behold His glory and receive the fullness of your blessing; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Eternal God, we praise You for stepping out of eternity to enter this world through Your Son, Jesus. In doing so, You gave us the perfect example for Christian life. You gave of Yourself so that others would learn to follow You. Help us to be transformed by Your presence today so that we might teach others to follow You.
