Prayers for Illumination on Strength

Adapted from Psalm 119:105

O Lord, your Word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. Give us grace to receive your truth in faith and love, and strength to follow on the path you set before us; through Jesus Christ, Amen.  

Holy and gracious God, may your Holy Spirit give us a spirit of wisdom and revelation,  so that, with the eyes of our hearts enlightened, we may know the hope to which Christ has called us, the riches of his glorious inheritance among us, and the greatness of his power for those who believe.   Amen. 

Breathe in us, O Holy Spirit,

That our thoughts may all be holy.

Act in us, O Holy Spirit,

That our work, too, may be holy.

Draw our hearts, O Holy Spirit,

That we love but what is holy.

Strengthen us, O Holy Spirit,

To defend all that is holy.

Guard us, then, O Holy Spirit,

That we always may be holy.
