Prayer for Comfort on Mother's Day

Creator God,

By Your Grace we are born and born again,
Like a mother, You long to comfort Your children,
Your Son longed to gather us as a hen gathers her chicks.
The love of earthly mothers echoes Your loving kindness.
We pray now for the comfort of all mothers.

Comfort mothers who are grieving, exhausted, or unseen.

You sustain those who have sacrificed to sustain others.

Comfort those who bear the silence of loss,
A child gone too…
