Living in Light of Eternity

Pastor: Lord, we confess that too often we don’t live as people filled with the light of eternity.
People: We complain. We focus on the problems we face and not the blessings you give.
Pastor: We get caught up in the divisions in the world today–whether they be racial, ethnic, cultural, or political.
People: And instead of shining your light into those divisions, we get stuck in the here and now. We forget that our focus should be on eternity and sharing the good news of your salvation with others.
All: We sin against you and against each other–in our thoughts, our words, and our actions.
Pastor: The good news is that God knew each and every one of our sins before the world was created–yet in His infinite love and mercy, He sent Christ to pay the price for those sins with his death and resurrection. Because of this, your sins are forgiven!
People: We are forgiven, indeed. Amen.
