Let us go before our God, confessing the ways we have dismissed

Leader: Let us go before our God, confessing the ways we have dismissed His plan for internal peace from our lives.

Leader: Heavenly Father, we crave rest and seek it everywhere but with You. Instead, we fill every moment with earthly things and come away unsatisfied because the void we feel can only be filled by relationship with You.

Congregation: Forgive us, Father, for seeking contentment in our actions and accomplishments, rather than in Your invitation to be still and know that You are God. (Psalm 46:10)

Leader: Release us from the lure of things that take time and energy from the life you desire for us, that we might fulfill the plans you have crafted for each of us. (Ephesians 2:10)

Congregation: Energize us with the message of Your saving grace, that we would be renewed to walk joyfully in the light of Your love. (Psalm 51:10)

Leader: Let us take a moment to reflect on how we have personally deleted God’s Sabbath invitation from our calendar and given other things a higher priority.

(time for silent reflection)

Leader: Hear the good news: God’s invitation to Sabbath with Him is perpetual. Filled with His refreshment and renewed by His peace, know that you are forgiven through the saving blood of Jesus. Go forward with the promise that He will provide all that you need. (Phillipians 4:19)

Congregation: As a deer thirsts for streams of water, so my soul thirsts for You, my God. (Psalm 42:1)

Leader and Congregation: Amen.
