There are many different versions of this ancient prayer, both said and sung. The most familiar for English-speaking Protestants is from The Book of Common Prayer:
Traditional Version
O Lamb of God, that takest away the sins of the world,
Have mercy upon us.
O Lamb of God, that takest away the sins of the world,
Have mercy upon us.
O Lamb of God, that takest away the sins of the world,
Grant us thy peace.
Contemporary Version
O Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world,
Have mercy upon us.
O Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world,
Have mercy upon us.
O Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world,
Grant us your peace.
Traditional version is taken from "The Great Litany" in The Book of Common Prayer (1979). The contemporary version is adapted by TPW.
