O God, Creator of all seasons,
We thank You for the wonder of winter.
As the earth is blanketed with soft snow,
Help us to feel the warmth Of Your embrace.
As ice coats bare branches,
Glittering in the afternoon sun,
And Jack Frost nips at little noses,
Comfort us with Your love.
O Word who became flesh,
When the world is cold, Ignite in us spirits of compassion.
Stoke the fires of generosity
Deep within our souls
So our [church] family may reflect
Your light To everyone we meet.
