Congregationalist Baptismal Service for the Baptism of Children (adapted for modern use)

This service may be inserted into Sunday morning worship, evening or morning prayer, or by itself, at the home.

Readings

The parents with the child or children to be baptized present and standing before the minister, the minister begins, saying one or more of the following passages of scripture:

Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward. (Psalm 127:1 & 4, ESV)
