Calls To Worship
Voice
Adapted from Psalm 29
Leader: Then let us wait for the Lord, and in this season of lent, let us wait by the cross.
Leader: Ascribe to the Lord, glory and strength. Glorify God’s holy name.
People: We worship the Lord with awe in our hearts.
Leader: The voice of the Lord is over the waters; the God of glory thunders.
People: The voice of the Lord is powerful. The voice of the Lord is full of majesty.
Leader: The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars. The voice of the Lord flashes forth flames of fire.
People: The voice of the Lord shakes the wilderness. The voice of the Lord causes the oaks to whirl, and strips the forest bare;
Leader: And all in God’s holy temple cry,
People: “Glory! Glory to God in the highest. Holy! Holy is the Lord God Almighty. You are worthy to receive glory and honor and power.”
Leader: Let us worship God.
Adapted from Psalm 130
Leader: Out of the depths we cry to you, Lord;
People: Lord, hear our voices , Let your ears be attentive to our cries for mercy. If you, Lord, kept a record of sins,
Leader: Lord, who could stand? But with you there is forgiveness, so that we can, with reverence, serve you.
People: we will wait for the Lord, with our whole being we will wait, and in his word we put our hope.
Leader: We wait for the Lord more than watchmen wait for the morning, more than watchmen wait for the morning.
People: For with the Lord is unfailing love and with him is full redemption. He himself will redeem Israel from all their sins.

Adapted from Psalm 142
Leader:Â Â With my voice I cry to You, Lord; I pour out my complaint; I tell my trouble before You.
People: When my spirit is faint, I cry to You, Lord; for You are my refuge. Give heed to my cry, so that I may praise Your name. I lay before You my sin, my hope, my failing and my ambition, and I lift to You my heart for guidance and cleansing.
Let us exalt You, O God and King;Â we will praise Your name.
People: Â Every day we will praise You and extol Your name for ever and ever.
