Calls To Worship
Refuge
Adapted from Psalm 9
Leader: The Lord reigns forever, and rules the nations with fairness.
People: The Lord is a shelter for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.
Leader: Sing praises to the Lord who reigns in Jerusalem;
Tell the world about God’s unforgettable deeds.
People: The needy will not be ignored forever;
The hopes of the poor will not always be crushed.
All: Let us worship God!

Adapted from Psalm 36:5-7
Your love, Lord, reaches to the heavens,
Your faithfulness to the skies.
Your righteousness is like the highest mountains,
Your justice like the great deep.
You, Lord, preserve both people and animals.
How priceless is your unfailing love, O God!
People take refuge in the shadow of your wings.
We celebrate your incredible love today.

Adapted from Psalm 62:5-12
Leader: For God alone our souls wait in silence, for our hope is in him.
People: He alone is our rock and our salvation, our fortress; we shall not be shaken. On God rests our deliverance and our honor; our mighty rock, our refuge is in God.

Adapted from Psalm 91
Leader: You who live in the shelter of the Highest, who abide in the shadow of the Almighty, will say to the Lord,
People: “My refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.”
Leader: For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler, and under his wings, you will find refuge; for he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.
All: God answers us when we call and is with us in our troubles to rescue us and show us his salvation.
Adapted from Psalm 142
Leader: With my voice I cry to You, Lord; I pour out my complaint; I tell my trouble before You.
People: When my spirit is faint, I cry to You, Lord; for You are my refuge. Give heed to my cry, so that I may praise Your name. I lay before You my sin, my hope, my failing and my ambition, and I lift to You my heart for guidance and cleansing.
Let us exalt You, O God and King; we will praise Your name.
People: Every day we will praise You and extol Your name for ever and ever.
Adapted from John 3:17 and Psalm 46:1-3
Pastor: God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
All: His love endures forever
Pastor: God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling.
All: His love endures forever.
Pastor: Let us worship God.
