Weakness
Adapted from Psalm 40:28-31
Do you not know? Have you not heard?
The Lord is the everlasting God, the creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary
And his understanding no one can fathom.
He gives strength to the weary
And increases the power of the weak.
Almighty God, we approach you in humility. Reveal yourself in all your glory today.
Who will save us from the ways of death?
Jesus Christ our Lord; thanks be to God!
God’s grace is sufficient for us;
In Christ, the weak are made strong.
Weeping may linger for the night,
But joy comes with the morning.
Austin D. Hill
Psalm 82 and James 1:27
Our God is a righteous Judge who presides over all the earth. He defends the weak and the fatherless. He upholds the cause of the poor and the oppressed. He rescues the weak and the needy and delivers them from the hand of the wicked. He is the same God of whom James says, “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after widows and orphans in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.” The nations are His inheritance. Come, let us worship our Just and Righteous God.
