Calls To Worship

Service

We are called into the church to accept the cost and joy of discipleship,

to be God’s servants in the service of all,

to share in Christ’s baptism and eat at his table,

to join Christ in his passion and victory.

“Beloved let us love one another, for love comes from God.”

All who love are born of God and know God.

Let us worship God!

Wonderful Counselor, open our ears

So we may hear your song

God is with us, God is near

Mighty God, open our eyes

So we may see you at work

For goodness, truth, and justice

Everlasting Father, open our hearts

So we may release our worry,

Our loneliness, and our striving

Prince of Peace, open our hands

So we may take yours and each other’s

And walk together the path of grace

Amen

Opening Prayer based on Isaiah 9:6 by Lisa Ann Moss Degrenia © 2022, www.revlisad.com

Based on John 1/ Matthew 25

You came to us, Word made flesh, to show us what it means to love.

You came to us, Word made flesh, to teach us how to serve.

You came to us, Word made flesh, to remind us to clothe the naked and feed the hungry.

Come to us now, Holy Wisdom, Holy Word. Love us, teach us, and feed us as we worship you together now.

Alleluia! Amen.

O Lord, Open our lips

And our mouth shall proclaim your praise

O Lord, Open our eyes

And we shall see the marvelous things you have done in and through your Son, our Savior

O Lord, Open our minds,

And we shall discern your holy love and redeeming ways of entering our world

O Lord, Open our hands

And we shall reach out to bless those around us who are in need.
