Calls To Worship

Adapted from Psalm 1

Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked

Or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers,

But whose delight is in the law of the Lord,

And who meditates on God’s law day and night.

That person is like a tree planted by streams of water,

Which yields its fruit in seasons and whose leaf does not wither.

Whatever that person does prospers.

Holy God, help us to delight in following you. Renew our passion for your laws as we worship you today.

Adapted from Psalm 119

I seek you with all my heart; do not let me stray from your commands.

I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.

Praise be to you, LORD; teach me your decrees.

With my lips I recount all the laws that come from your mouth.

I rejoice in following your statutes as one rejoices in great riches.

I meditate on your precepts and consider your ways.

I delight in your decrees; I will not neglect your word.

For your word is a lamp for my feet, and light for my path.

Adapted from Psalm 119

Your word is a lamp unto my feet

And a light unto my path.

I’ve promised it once, and I’ll promise it again:

I will obey your righteous regulations.

Lord, accept my offering of praise,

Teach me your regulations.

Your laws are my treasure; they are my heart’s delight.

We are determined to keep your decrees to the very end.

Adapted from Psalm 119:9,11,105

How can a young person keep their way pure?

By living according to your word.

I have hidden your word in my heart,

That I might not sin against you.

Your word is a lamp unto my feet,

And a light unto my path. Almighty God, lead us through our questions today with your powerful word.

The risen Lord comes alongside us this morning. He speaks the truth of Scripture into our waxing and waning hearts. He blesses us with his presence on our pilgrim journey through life’s often difficult way. Let us worship him with our heart, soul, mind, and strength.
