Revelation

Adapted from Psalm 111 (NLT)

Leader: Praise the Lord!
People: I will thank the Lord with all my heart as I meet with his godly people.
Leader: How amazing are the deeds of the Lord!
People: All who delight in him should ponder them.
Leader: Everything he does reveals his glory and majesty.
People: His righteousness never fails.
Leader: He causes us to remember his wonderful works.
People: How gracious and merciful is our Lord!
Leader: He gives food to those who fear him;
People: he always remembers his covenant.
Leader: He has shown his great power to his people
People: by giving them the lands of other nations.
Leader: All he does is just and good,
People: and all his commandments are trustworthy.
They are forever true, to be obeyed faithfully and with integrity.
Leader: He has paid a full ransom for his people.
People: He has guaranteed his covenant with them forever.
Leader: What a holy, awe-inspiring name he has!
People: Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true wisdom.

All: All who obey his commandments will grow in wisdom.

Praise him forever!

Jesus Christ is the light of the world.

He will judge the people with righteousness and defend the cause of the poor.

Jesus Christ is the light of the world.

The mystery of the ages is revealed; the eternal plane of God is known to all.

Jesus Christ is the light of the world.

Let us kneel down before him to give him honor, glory, and praise.

Jesus Christ is the light of the world.

Let us offer him all the treasures of our hearts and our lives.

Jesus Christ is the light of the world.

You have searched me, Lord,  and you know me.

You know when I sit and when I rise;

you perceive my thoughts from afar.

You discern my going out and my lying down;

you are familiar with all my ways.

Before a word is on my tongue

you, Lord, know it completely.

You hem me in behind and before,

and you lay your hand upon me.

Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,

too lofty for me to attain.

For you created my inmost being;

you knit me together in my mother’s womb.

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;

your works are wonderful, I know that full well.

My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place,

when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.

Your eyes saw my unformed body;

all the days ordained for me were written in your book

before one of them came to be.

How precious to me are your thoughts, God!

How vast is the sum of them!

Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand—

when I awake, I am still with you.
