Calls To Worship

House

Adapted from Psalm 5:7-8, 11-12

Leader: I, through the abundance of your steadfast love, will enter your house. I will bow down toward your holy temple in the fear of you.

All: Lead me, O LORD, in your righteousness because of my enemies; make your way straight before me.

Leader: But let all who take refuge in you rejoice; let them ever sing for joy, and spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may exult in you.

All: For you bless the righteous, O LORD; you cover him with favor as with a shield.

Adapted from Psalm 27

Leader:            The Lord is our light and our salvation—

                           So why should we be afraid?

People:           The Lord is our fortress, protecting us from danger,

                        So why should we tremble?

Leader:            The one thing we ask of the Lord is to live in the house of the Lord

                          all the days of our lives.

People:          Wait patiently for the Lord.  Be brave and courageous.

                        Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.

All:                  Let us worship God!

Adapted from Psalm 84

How lovely is your dwelling place, Lord Almighty!

My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the Lord;

My heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.

Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere.

I would rather be the doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked.

Blessed are those who dwell in your house; they are ever praising you.

Adapted from Psalm 135:1-4

Leader: Praise the Lord!  Praise the name of the Lord;

Give praise, O servants of the Lord.

People: We who stand in the house of the Lord,

In the courts of the house of our God.

Leader: Praise the Lord, for the Lord is good;

Sing to God’s name, for God is gracious

People: For the Lord has chosen Jacob for himself,

Israel as God’s own possession.

Adapted from Isaiah 2:2-5 (ESV)

Pastor: It shall come to pass in the latter days that the mountain of the house of the LORD shall be established as the highest of the mountains, and shall be lifted up above the hills; and all the nations shall flow to it, and many peoples shall come, and say:

All: “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob, that he may teach us his ways and that we may walk in his paths.”

Pastor: For out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem. He shall judge between the nations, and shall decide disputes for many peoples; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore.

All: O house of Jacob, come, let us walk in the light of the LORD.

Adapted from Ephesians 2:19-22

So then you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and of the household of God,

Being built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the chief cornerstone;

In whom the whole building, fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord;

In whom you also are built together for a habitation of God in the Spirit.
