Calls To Worship

Calling

Adapted from 2 Chronicles 7:14-15

God says, “If my people,

Who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray,

And seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways,

I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and heal their land.

Now my eyes will be open and my ears will be attentive to the prayers offered in this place.

Loving God, we claim your promises to us today. Heal our land. Heal us. Help us to seek your face in worship today.

Adapted from 1 Samuel 3:10-11

Then the Lord came and stood there, calling.

Like the prophet Samuel, we reply to God, “Speak. Your servants are listening.”

And the Lord replied, “I am about to do something that will make the ears of all who hear it tingle!”

Almighty God, please show us your way. Give us eyes to see, ears to hear, and hearts to perceive your gracious work in our midst.

Adapted from 1 Corinthians 1:20-22

All of God’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ.

It is God who gives us the ability to stand firm.

God has commissioned us.

And God has identified us as his own

By placing the Holy Spirit in our hearts

As the first installment of everything he will give us.

Adapted from Ephesians 4:3-6

Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.

There is only one body and one Spirit,

Just as you were called to one hope when you were called;

One Lord, one faith, one baptism;

One God and father of us all,

Who is over all, and in all, and through.
