Calls To Worship

Calling

Adapted from 2 Chronicles 7:14-15 (ESV)

God says, “If my people,

Who are called by my name, humble themselves, and pray

And seek my face and turn from their wicked ways,”

“I will hear from heaven and I will forgive their sin and heal their land.

Now my eyes will be open and my ears will be attentive to the prayer that is made in this place.”

Loving God, we claim your promises to us today. Heal our land. Heal us. Help us to seek your face in worship today.

Inspired by 1 Samuel 3:10-11

Then the Lord came and stood there, calling.

Like the prophet Samuel, we reply to God, “Speak. Your servants are listening.”

And the Lord replied, “I am about to do something that will make the ears of all who hear it tingle!”

Almighty God, please show us your way. Give us eyes to see, ears to hear, and hearts to perceive your gracious work in our midst.

Inspired by 2 Corinthians 1:20-22

All of God’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ.

It is God who gives us the ability to stand firm.

God has commissioned us.

And God has identified us as his own

By placing the Holy Spirit in our hearts

As the first installment of everything he will give us.

Adapted from Ephesians 4:2-6 (NLT)

Always be humble and gentle.

Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love.

Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace.

For there is one body and one Spirit, just as you have been called to one glorious hope for the future.
There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all,

who is over all, in all, and living through all.
