Calls To Worship

God’s Will

Adapted from Isaiah 6:8-9

Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying,

Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?”

And I said, “Here I am, send me!”

And he said, “Go…”

Lord of Hosts, you have sent us, we have said we’ll go. Please give us the courage to stand for you, to break the chains of injustice, and proclaim your Good News.

Adapted From Psalm 19

 Leader:  The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul; the decrees of the Lord are sure, making wise the simple; the precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart;

People:  The commandment of the Lord is clear, enlightening the eyes; the fear of the Lord is pure, enduring forever; the ordinances of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.

People:  More to be desired are they than gold, even much fine gold; sweeter also than honey, and drippings of the honeycomb.

Leader:  And by them we are warned; for in keeping them there is great reward.

All: Come Let us worship God.

Adapted from Romans 12:2

Do not be conformed
To the pattern of this world,
But be transformed

By the renewing of your minds.

Then you will be able

To test and approve what God’s will is – his good, pleasing, and perfect will.

Risen Christ Jesus, help us to conform to your pattern of life.

Adapted from 1 John 4:7-15

“Dear friends,

Let us love one another, for love comes from God.

Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God…. This is love:

Not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.”

“God is love.

Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.” God, please help us to experience your love today so we can embody it for others as we go forth from here.

What does the Holy One require of us?

To be just, kind, and humble before God.

Give thanks to God with your whole heart.

Great are the works of the Lord.

Now faith, hope, and love abide;

And the greatest of these is love.
