Calls To Worship

Glorify

Adapted From Psalm 29 (NASB)

Leader: “Ascribe to the Lord, sons of the mighty,”
People: “Ascribe to the Lord glory and strength.”
Leader: “Ascribe to the Lord the glory due His name; Worship the Lord in holy attire.”

People: “The voice of the Lord is on the waters; The God of glory thunders,”
Leader: “The Lord is over many waters. The voice of the Lord is powerful,”
People: “The voice of the Lord is majestic.”

All: May the Lord give strength to his people! May the Lord bless his people with peace!

Scott Bullock (NASB, some language adapted for liturgical use)

Adapted from Psalm 86

Leader: Come, let us enter into God’s presence.

People:   Lord, I am here, waiting. Let me hear Your voice; for I am poor, and needy in spirit. Be gracious to me, gladden the soul of Your servant, for to You do I cry all day long – to You, I lift up my soul.

Teach me Your way, Lord, that I may walk in Your truth. Give me an undivided heart to revere Your name. For great is Your steadfast love toward me. You are merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness. Lord, You are good and forgiving. There is none like You.

Lord, all the nations shall glorify Your name. For You are great and do wondrous things. You alone are God. I give thanks to You, O Lord my God, with my whole heart, and I will glorify Your name forever.

Adapted from Psalm 86:8-10, NRSV

There is none like you, O Lord,

nor are there any works like yours.

All the nations you have made shall come

and bow down before you, O Lord,

and shall glorify your name.

For you are great and do wondrous things,

you alone are God.
