Calls To Worship

Rest

Adapted from Psalm 23

Leader: The Lord is our shepherd.

People: All our needs will be met. God provides a place and time for deep rest and restoration. God leads us beside still waters; restores our souls and leads us in right paths. We do not need to be afraid; for God is with us; now and forever.

Leader: Such faith calls for some singing!

Adapted from Psalm 62

My soul finds rest in God alone;

my salvation comes from You.

You alone are my rock, my salvation,

and my fortress, I’ll never be shaken,

Come let worship the Lord our God –

for He is strong and he is loving!

Richard Herman

Adapted from Matthew 11:28-29

Leader: Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

People: Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and humble in heart,

and you will find rest for your souls.

Leader:  Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

People:  Lord, teach us how to rest in you.

Leader:  Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me.

People:  O Savior Christ, let us learn your lessons well.

Leader:  Let us worship our God.

For Labor Day Weekend

Blessed Jesus
The Carpenter, the Rabbi,
The Healer, the Good Shepherd,
The One who washes feet, the Ruler of all that is seen and unseen

We bless you and thank you for the good gift of you and the good gift of work
For entrusting us with responsibilities and purpose
For making a place for us and a place for us in your plan

Lead us as we labor, so all is done with integrity
Lead us as we labor, so all is done with honor
Lead us as we labor, so all is done for the common good
and for your glory. Amen.
